Notes:
1. Use trainsplit.com to find the cheapest deals available by splitting your journey; don't buy tickets from them though, use www.tpexpress.co.uk or www.lner.co.uk.
2. Railcard holders get one third off the above prices.
3. Groups of three or more can get approx 20% off East Coast Advance Singles fares if booked at www.lner.co.uk.

If you don't mind spending most of the day on a coach you can do the return journey from Leeds from £28 with National Express. Unfortunately there are no services back to Sheffield after the game.

Getting to the ground

The best way to get to White Hart Lane from Kings Cross is to take the Victoria Line to Seven Sisters, where you jump on a train to White Hart Lane station. There's a train basically every quarter of an hour. If you hit it right the entire journey from Kings Cross will only take about 20 minutes. If you choose to walk it from Seven Sisters, it's 30 minutes or so to the ground and there are some pub opportunities en route. Another option is to head for Northumberland Park (Victoria Line to Tottenham Hale, then change), from where it's a 10 minute walk to the away section.

Don't even think about going to White Hart Lane station after the game unless you've got all night to get home. There are trains at 1832,1841, 1847 and 1902. Your best bet is to leg it to Northumberland Park as soon as the final whistle goes. Trains from there are at 1835, 1844, 1851, 1859 and 1906.

Anyone daft enough to drive down will find that there is no street parking whatsoever anywhere near the ground. You'll therefore have to either park some distance away or pay a lot of money in a private car park. Be aware that anywhere inside the North Circular (A406) is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which means a charge of 15 quid unless your vehicle is exempt.

Pubs
The pubs closest to the ground are on the whole strictly home fans only. The available options are therefore:
 - Haringey Irish Centre, which is very close to White Hart Lane station and has a room set aside for away fans; beer and food are relatively cheap
 - the Beehive close to Bruce Grove), which welcomes away fans and has a BBQ on match days
 - possibly the Antwerp Arms (a community pub, and pretty close to the ground)
 - possibly the Volunteer; get off the Victoria Lane at Tottenham Hale, which is the stop after Seven Sisters; it's a traditional pub that gets great reviews, and the beer's pretty cheap

The above are all marked on the pub map below.

Alternatively you could just drink around Kings Cross and catch a late tube up. If so then be aware that you'll need to set off just after half 3 to be sure of making kick-off. Or finally, head for Liverpool Street where there's a massive Wetherspoons in the station and numerous other pubs (the Magpie, Lord Aberconway and others), close by. There are trains from Liverpool Street to Northumberland Park at 1525, 1528 1540 and 1555, with a journey time of 15 minutes..
