around a 20 minute walk from the station to the ground. Alternatively you could
catch the number 4 or 5 bus from stand E at the bus station. If driving down
then there's a free car park opposite the ground, although it could take you a
long time to get out after the game.
If you're catching the train down then you'll find there's not much in the way of pubs around the station or in the centre. Your best bet is to head for the Chequers, although this is taking you further away from the ground. Alternatively there's the Standard Bearer (Wetherspoons) and the Old Post Office, both conveniently right next door to the bus station. There aren't any pubs around the ground. There is though a club bar next to the away end. This normally gets a good mix of home and away fans. However it's restricted to home fans for 'high profile' games, so it could be out of bounds for us. In any case a much better option is Our Mutual Friend, which is only a five minute walk away. This pub gets really good reviews and has been the local CAMRA branch's Pub of the Year.
